Another school session is in full swing. Students are meeting with friends. Lots of interaction with sports, trips, and, oh yes, lots of classes for learning about everything, with new and ever-changing teachers.
The community’s annual Trunk or Treat event, co-sponsored by the town’s Girl Scouts and Chamber of Commerce, will take place on Thursday, Oct. 31 in Highland Falls.

West Point’s Madison Eby, a freshman at O’Neill High School, had quite the summer vacation — she and her baton traveled to Limoges, France to compete in the International Baton Twirling Federation Grand Prix competition.
Behind the counter at Perry’s for the last 10 years is Fort Montgomery’s Perry Spacone. He’s a master of breakfast sandwiches and quick comebacks. With him five days a week behind that counter since last summer is Highland Falls’ Meredith Johnson.
Born Nov. 14, 1948, at West Point, Mary was the daughter of the late Fred A. Treppard and Mary C. Humphrey Treppard. She passed away on Nov. 26, 2018 in Briarcliff Manor; she had just celebrated her 70th birthday.
