Mary K. Treppard Plezia

November 14, 1948 – November 26, 2018

formerly of Highland Falls

Born Nov. 14, 1948, at West Point, Mary was the daughter of the late Fred A. Treppard and Mary C. Humphrey Treppard. She passed away on Nov. 26, 2018 in Briarcliff Manor; she had just celebrated her 70th birthday.

She is survived by her sister, Anne E. Hogue and husband Kenneth of Sandy, Oregon; her brother Fred A. Treppard Jr. of Montrose; and niece Theresa of Portland, Oregon.

Mary was a graduate of Sacred Heart School in Highland Falls and Highland Falls High School. She enjoyed photography, crocheting and other crafts that she created and shared with her many friends. Mary loved her family and friends and enjoyed the time she spent with them. During her final illness she was very appreciative of those who took care of her.

There will be a graveside service for Mary on Friday, Oct. 4 at 11 a.m. at her family gravesite in Eagle Valley Cemetery, Highland Falls, and a remembrance Mass will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 5 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Highland Falls.

Annie Belle Wade West

Annie Belle Wade West departed this life and entered into eternal rest on Monday, Sept. 16,. She was born in Red Springs, N.C. to the late Thomas and Nola Wade.

In her early years she moved to Highland Falls, where she met and later married Edward Y. West Jr. From this union were four children. She worked at the West Point Laundry and later became the cook for the Senior Dining Program of Orange County, from 1981 until her retirement in 1999.

Annie Belle was a faithful member of St. John AME Zion Church for many years, until moving to Petersburg, Va. She served as a loyal and faithful president of the Usher Board for 14 years, was the vice president as Pastor’s Aide for three years, a member of the Women’s Ensemble, a member of the Highlanders and a dedicated Willing Worker helper.

She was predeceased by her husband and her baby son, Mark A. West, her parents, sisters and brothers.

She leaves to cherish everlasting memories: her children – Donald Wade of Petersburg, Va., Nola West of Washington DC, and Edward West III (Stacy) of Petersburg, Va.; one granddaughter – A’dreyona Walker-King; one grandson – Marquette Johnson; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at St. John AME Zion Church, Highland Falls, on Sept. 28. Rev. Christopher Scott officiated with eulogy by Elder Sandra Brown-Mathis. Interment was at Eagle Valley Cemetery, Highland Falls. Professional services entrusted to Rhodes Funeral Home.
