Summer breakfast program is added

In conjunction with the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley and the Highland Falls-Fort Montgomery Central School District, the Town of Highlands Recreation Department will not only again offer a free lunch program for all children up to age 18 this summer, but also add a free breakfast program.

Highland Falls Mayor Joe D’Onofrio will host a ‘special recognition ceremony’ of those community residents 85 and older on Saturday, May 11 at 1 p.m. at the Senior Citizen Center, 15 Drew Ave.

Watch for lots of paving!

With the help of a significant grant obtained by former Senator Bill Larkin, a grant obtained by former Congresswoman Sue Kelly, grant money arranged by Senator James Skoufis, and a deal with Central Hudson, the village expects that some 13 streets will get new pavement this summer.
