For several decades, the community had a humane society. But, when veterinarian Dr. Nancy Beeman retired in 2018 and moved from the area, the 4 Paws Humane Society ceased operation.
With cake, coffee, a couple of speeches, a proclamation, two goats, pumpkins for sale, beautiful blue skies overhead, and a ton of community spirit, the West Point-Highland Falls Farmers Market’s 20th anniversary was celebrated on Sunday morning.

The community’s annual Trunk or Treat event, co-sponsored by the town’s Girl Scouts and Chamber of Commerce, will take place on Thursday, Oct. 31 in Highland Falls.
