Chamber creating tourist map

Will feature businesses & local history

The Town of Highlands Chamber of Commerce is in the process of creating a fold-out map and tourism brochure with an eye to promote local retail businesses.

The Chamber, it was noted at the group’s most recent meeting, will distribute the brochures to local hotels/motels, and the West Point Visitor’s Center, among other venues. A large map, which will be the central focus of the brochure, will be on display at all times in the West Point Visitor’s Center.

They are looking at something of a ‘whimsical’ map, with design and artwork by Cornwall artist Jay LeRoy.

“Our goal is to have the complete brochure ready to go this summer,” Chamber President Jim Modlin. “The colorful brochure will highlight local points of interest and history as it guides visitors around our town.”

The Chamber is seeking businesses which want to put an ad on the map/brochure, but needs all input by March 31.
