Former police officer files civil lawsuit

The Town of Highlands, Village of Highland Falls, Joseph D’Onofrio (individually and as mayor of the Village of Highland Falls), Kenneth Scott (individually and as chief of police), James DiSalvo (individually and as deputy mayor of the Village of Highland Falls), and Frank Pierri (individually and as chief of police of Town of Highlands) have all been named in a federal civil rights lawsuit filed by a former THPD and HFPD officer.

Black History celebration

Assemblyman Colin Schmitt presented a resolution to members of St. John’s AME Zion Church in Highland Falls during the church’s Black History Month history program on Sunday. It was a resolution which he co-sponsored, commemorating the Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Jr and his contributions to the nation.

Supplies needed

About two weeks ago, Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus, currently deployed for the Navy Reserves, made a video plea for residents of the county to send their support in the form of supplies to some 200 Orange County residents currently deployed.
