Do your kids need school supplies?

Methodist Church can help

It’s early to be thinking about the 2021-22 school year, but ….

Hudson Highlands United Methodist Church will — for the 13th consecutive year — be distributing free school supplies to Highland Falls and Fort Montgomery students, pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade, this August.

Basic school supplies, packaged by volunteers using supply lists provided by the Highland Falls-Fort Montgomery Central School District, will be given out on two afternoons in August. But, it is time to register now.

Registration forms were sent home to all current HF-FMCSD students via the school district. Registration forms can also be obtained by emailing HudsonHighlandsUMC@outlook.com, or by calling the church at 845-446-9444.

The church will have volunteers at the Aug. 3 National Night Out, sponsored by the Highland Falls Police Department, to accept registration forms, or to fill them out. That event will take place in the municipal parking lot across from Sacred Heart Church.

So that the church can purchase enough supplies, forms are due by Sunday, Aug. 1.

Pickup will take place at the church’s Main St. office (316 Main St., Highland Falls) on Saturday, Aug. 21 from 10 a.m. to noon, and Sunday, Aug. 22 from noon to 2 p.m.

Those who register but aren’t available to pick up the supplies on those days should call the church office to make an appointment to pick them up after Aug. 22.
