With the mandated shut down of large gatherings, and the new need for ‘social distancing,’ most church services in the Highland Falls-Fort Montgomery-Cornwall communities have temporarily closed.

Mayor Joe D’Onofrio opened his Village Board meeting Monday by asking those in attendance — exactly 10 people, including board members, as allowed by new federal guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19 — to stand and give an ovation to doctors, nurses, EMS workers, volunteers and so many others who are on the “front lines” of keeping Americans safe right now.

Students in the Highland Falls-Fort Montgomery Central School District will enjoy a ‘snow day’ on Monday, March 16. Then, schools remain closed for students on Tuesday, March 17 for a teacher in-service day.
