Three O’Neill High School seniors, Isaac Walker, Jacob Woodruff and Charles Reeves, have been named as ‘Commended Students’ in the 2020 National Merit Scholarship program.
O’Neill Principal Debbie Brand made the announcement this week. About 34,000 students across the country received the honor. Although they will not continue in the 2020 competition for National Merit Scholarships, they are among the top 50,000 of more than 1.5 million students who took the PSAT, the qualifying test for the scholarship program.
“Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success,” a program spokesman said.
