The Town Board dealt with a handful of important topics at its meeting on Monday. The board has a busy summer ahead, because most of the issue remain unresolved as the board awaits more information before acting.
The Highland Falls High School Class of 1969 was back in town en masse last week, celebrating their 50th high school reunion at not only their old high school, but on a fun boat ride and at other social gatherings.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Frank Sheboy recently announced that James I. O’Neill High School was one of four schools in Orange County and one of 234 public high schools in the state to be recognized as a New York State Education Department “recognition school”.
“To be inducted into the National Junior Honor Society you had to demonstrate excellence in service, leadership, character and citizenship. Think of what more you have already achieved, but also think about what more you want to achieve.”
The Highland Falls’ Intermediate School’s ‘Sunshine Club’ collects money from it’s members throughout the school year and then donates it at the end of each year.
