The annual Highland Falls Fourth of July Firecracker 5K and Children’s Fun Run will begin at 8 a.m. on Thursday, July 4.
Run it, walk it, take your dog, push a stroller, go alone, chat with friends the whole way …. you can do whatever you’d like!
Runners and walkers will start right in front of Dunkin Donuts at 8 a.m., rain or shine. The course takes participants south to about the Ambulance Hall, before turning and going back to Thayer Gate. There, they turn again, and race down Main St. to Memorial Park.
There are lots of awards to be given out, and will be plenty of water and snacks awaiting finishers in the park. After the last race participant goes over the finish line, the children’s event will take place.
The registration fee is $20, or $25 the day of the race. Shirts will be available for the first 175 registered.
