Village hosts derby on June 8
The Village of Highland Falls will host a free fishing derby for kids aged four to 15 on Saturday, June 8 at Roe Park.
Deputy Mayor Jim Ramus is coordinating the event, which will take place from 9 to 11:30 a.m. with registration beginning at 8 a.m. “It’s going to be a great way to get the kids outside for a morning,” Ramus said, noting the event will be held rain or shine.
There will be goodie bags for the first 50 kids who register; a limited amount of bait, hooks and bobbers; prizes in the age categories of 4-7, 8-11 and 12-15; a free hot dogs, chips, soda lunch for all; and lots of fun.
Bring your own fishing pole!
Children can be preregistered by filling out a form in the lobby of Village Hall, or parents can email basic information to Ramus at JRamus@highlandfallsny.org. Children can also be signed up on site at the event. Parents must accompany children to the event.
