Impressive news

O’Neill High School Principal Debbie Brand wants community residents to know this:

On Tuesday, April 30, the O’Neill Women’s Choir travelled to Nyack High School to participate in the annual New York State School Music Association’s (NYSSMA) Major Organizations Rating Festival.

Under the leadership of their director, Christopher Sheehan Reynolds, the girls sang a program of three pieces at the highest level (6) and were awarded the highest rating of ‘Gold with Distinction’.

“The Women’s Choir has reached this mark for seven consecutive years now and has an impressive overall record of 14 Gold with Distinction and 6 Gold level 6 ratings since its inception in 1999,” Brand said.

The next chance to see the Women’s Choir, as well as the school’s other choirs, and orchestra and jazz bands, will be at the O’Neill High School Pops Concert, set for 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 30 in the school’s auditorium.
