Incumbents Anne Lawless and Gus Koutsourades are the only two community residents who submitted petitions to run for two seats about to become vacant on the Board of Education.
Lawless currently serves as the board’s president.
Both will be on the ballot on Tuesday, May 21. Voting takes place from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. that day in the lobby of the Highland Falls Intermediate School on Mountain Ave. in Highland Falls.
Residents will also cast a vote on the school district’s proposed $32,087,219 budget for the 2019-20 school year.
The public hearing on the budget is set for Thursday, May 9, at 7 p.m. in the O’Neill High School Library.
Those who need to register to vote in the election can do so locally on Saturday, May 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Highland Falls Library.
