William (Bill) G. Lee

December 7, 1930— January 27, 2021

Formerly of Highland Falls

William (Bill) G. Lee age 90, of Greene, NY, passed away at home on the night of January 27th, 2021 due to complications of COVID-19.

He was predeceased by his mother and father, Esther Dodge and Dr. Carlton George Lee, his wife, Doris Stringham Lee, and his sons Mark Copeland and Jeffrey Lee. He is survived by his sister Elizabeth Warren, her many children, and his own children; Elizabeth Copeland & Robert Woodard of Conneaut, OH, Carlton & Mabel Lee of Singapore, William Lee and Tracy Beardsley of Greene, NY, and Laurinda Lee of Pottstown, PA. He is also survived by 9 Grandchildren; Benjamin, James, Elizabeth, Nathan, Tia, Eric, Lucinda, Jonathon, and Noah as well as 15 great-grandchildren.

William was born on December 7th, 1930 in Highland Falls, NY. He graduated from Highland Falls High School in the year of 1948. He went on to attend both Cornell University of Iowa and Vermont University where he graduated with a 4 year degree in Animal Husbandry. In the midst of University, William enlisted into the Army during the Korean War. William relocated to Greene in 1959 where he first worked for Crowley Foods managing a rail milk substation on Stillwater Rd. In 1968, he founded the Cup-N-Cone ice cream stores located in both Whitney Point and Hillcrest, NY. After retirement, he moved to Silver Springs, FL where he resided until the fall of 2019. He made his return to Greene, NY where he lived with his son, William A., until he passed. William enjoyed reading historical literature and the local newspaper, walking/ hiking, and gardening. He was a quiet, hardworking man who loved his family deeply. The family would like to thank UHS, Chenango County Hospice, and Dad’s home health care providers Ginny and Melissa for their help and care.

Per his wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Donations can be made in his memory to the American Heart Association or the Greene’s Highland Park Alliance Church Food Pantry.

Grant Joseph O’Dell

September 17, 1964—January 25, 2021

Highland Falls, New York

Grant Joseph O’Dell, “Stump”, passed away suddenly on Monday, January 25, 2021 at his residence in Highland Falls.  He was 56 years old.  He was the beloved son of Joe and the late Sarah Ann Regan O’Dell.  He was born on September 17, 1964 in Cornwall. 

Grant was a 1983 graduate of James I. O’Neill High School in Highland Falls.  He worked as a groomsman in the harness horse racing industry in Monroe, NY and Pompano Beach, FL. He also worked for FC & C Construction and was a retired member of Laborers Local 754 in Chestnut Ridge.  He was a dedicated craftsman who was proud of his workmanship. 

Grant was a well-known and dearly loved lifelong resident of Highland Falls. He had a ready, welcoming smile for everyone he met. He was always generous with his time, willing to help his family, friends and strangers, who would soon become friends. An avid outdoorsman, Grant enjoyed fishing, hunting and hiking. He enjoyed spending time with the locals telling stories, laughing and enjoying life. He was definitely the life of the party with his singing and dancing. He comes from a close knit family who loved him dearly and enjoyed every moment spent together. There was much love, laughter and joy. Grant was a devoted son to his father, Joe.  They spent countless hours together tending what is known as the BEST vegetable garden in Highland Falls.  His presence is going to be dearly missed by all.  

Along with his father, Joe, he is survived by his sisters: Kaye Crenshaw and her husband, Lee of Virginia; Mary O’Dell Joyner of Virginia; JoAnn O’Dell and her partner, John Lafalgio of Garnerville, NY; Geraldine Pressley and her husband, Curt of Lee, Massachusetts; and his nieces and nephews: Robin Hernandez, Nikkie David, Sarah Woody, Brandon Joyner, Dylan Whitbeck, Nicholas Whitbeck, Tyler Pressley, and Joshua Pressley. He also leaves behind many cousins and countless friends.  

Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope, NY.
A Graveside Service will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Peacedale Cemetery in Highland Falls, where Grant will be interred with his beloved mother, Sally.
