Brief but busy meeting held April 1st
At the most recent meeting of the Village Board:
— A contract for one of two vendor spots in the municipal parking lot across from Sacred Heart Church was awarded. It went to Jesse Marvin, for $300, for his hot dog cart. No bids were received for a second spot, it was to be rebid this week.
— Mayor Joe D’Onofrio said the village had received notification it will get a check from its insurance company for $62,604 to replace another piece of equipment damaged in a fire at the Wastewater Treatment Plant last August.
— It was noted that the village had received $4776 from the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, the local share of what was confisgated from a drug arrest last year. The county and state also received a portion of the proceeds from the arrest. “We thank our police and know they will keep up the good work,” D’Onofrio said.
— It was noted three highway department employees — Michael Jones, Cody Jados and Kevin Barnes — will attend bucket truck certification training in the Town of Crawford later this month.
— Bills and claims in the amount of $151,534 were paid.
— A $24,000 bid for engineering services for the north Main St. sidewalk rehabilition was accepted. The engineering firm of J. Robert Folchetti will do the work, which will be paid for out of a grant received for the project.
