Frances Lee Streck passed away on October 18, 2023, in Fredericksburg, VA. She was 99 years old. Daughter of the late Russell and Thelma (Ezelle) Lewis, she was born on August 2, 1924, in Petersburg, VA.
Frances worked as an Administrative Assistant for 25 years at the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY. She was an active member of the Highland Falls Rotary Club and the Senior Ladies Lunch Bunch. Additionally, she regularly volunteered at the American Red Cross and with the Constitution Island Ladies.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Debra Ann Van Winkle and her husband Hans, of Spotsylvania, VA; grandchildren: Jessica Ann Lamb and her husband James, of Los Angeles, CA; Christina Van Winkle and her husband Andrew Miller, of Denver, CO; Melissa Lee Hohimer and her husband Garrett, of Bethesda, MD; and Brian Van Winkle of Breckenridge, CO; and by her great-grandchildren: Parker Ann, Stella Lee, Rowan Ever, June Ann, Regan Rebecca, and Rian Sophia. In addition to her parents, Frances was also predeceased by her loving husband Alexander Streck Jr., and her brother Hubert T. Lewis.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 1, 2023, at the West Point Post Chapel, West Point, NY. Interment will follow at West Point Cemetery. A reception will be at Hotel Thayer in the Hap Arnold Room immediately following the graveside.
Funeral procession with clearance will leave William F. Hogan Funeral Home at 9:45 a.m. and will proceed directly to the Chapel. If you miss the procession you will have to register your vehicle at the Visitors Center and get a pass.
To celebrate the life of Frances, we encourage all attendees to wear the color red, in honor of her vibrant life.
