Stephen E. Conley

August 20, 1962—April 18, 2023

Bessemer, Alabama

Stephen E. Conley, 60, passed away on Saturday, April 18th, 2023 in Bessemer, Alabama. He was born in Cold Spring, New York on August 20th, 1962. He was predeceased by his parents Grace Ludwig Conley and Charles Conley.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years Jan Sheldon Conley. He is also survived by five brothers and their wives. Charles and Jane (KY), Wayne and Anita (AL), William and Brenda (NY) Kenneth and  Donna (NY) Brian and Brenda (NY). He is survived by aunts, uncles, and his beloved nieces and nephews. Steve also had many loving friends.

Steve was a master Carpenter and Timber framer. One of his last projects in the Hudson Valley was replacing the rails on the Sloop Woodie Guthrie. Steven was also a very fine poet. If he wasn’t writing, he was often playing his guitar. 

A Memorial service will be held on June 24, 2023 at 1 p.m. at the Church of the Holy Innocents, 401 Main St. Highland Falls, NY.  at the Church of the Holy Innocents, Highland Falls, NY.

Memorial contributions can be made to Hungry for Music, 2020 Pennslvania Ave. NW, No. 384, Washington, D.C.  a nonprofit organization that provides instruments to children in the United States and around the world.

Carla J. Fey

February 6, 1945—June 13, 2023

Highland Falls, NY

Carla J. Fey passed away on June 13, 2023, she was 78 years old. Daughter of the late Charles and Stephanie (Myks) Anderson, she was born on February 6, 1945, in New York, NY. 

Carla retired from the Social Security Administration in West Nyack, NY. Carla was an avid NY Yankee and NY Liberty fan. She enjoyed coaching and organizing Ponytail Softball for many years in the Town of Highlands. She believed in giving back to the community and she was also a supporter of The Center in Highland Falls. 

Left to cherish her memory are her Sons: Frank Fey (Elaine) of Fort Montgomery, NY; Tom Fey (Kathy) of Las Vegas, NV; Grandchildren: Stephanie, Brittany, Morgan; Great Grandchildren: Annabel, Marceline, and Elliot; Her sister Linda Staley (Jack) of Sherburne, NY; Sister-In-Law Sandy Anderson of Norwich, NY; Nephew Michael Anderson and Nieces Stephanie and Shannon Staley; in addition to her parents Carla was also predeceased by her brother, Steve Anderson. 

Upon her wishes no services will be held, please perform an act of kindness to honor her memory as she was always a giving person.  

Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope, NY.
