Delores C. Jennings

Delores C. Jennings passed away peacefully at home on Friday, November 25, 2022, in Fort Montgomery, NY. She was 85 years old. Daughter of the late Christine (Vann) and Wiley Long, she was born in Greenwood, FL on April 27, 1937.

Delores was a retired RN Nurse Administrator for NYS Office For People With Developmental Disabilities in Rockland County, NY. She was a Union Representative for the Professional Employee Federation, a member of Grace Baptist Church for many years, and she also belonged to the Red Hatters Society of Flagler County, FL.

She is survived by her large extended family, including her husband Nathaniel at home in Fort Montgomery, NY; her children: Mellard Jennings and his wife Marguerite, Angela Jennings of Monroe, NY, Christine Fieldson and her husband Harold of Fort Montgomery, NY, Malcolm Jennings and his wife Ann of Ridgewood, NJ, Nathaniel T. Jennings of Palm Coast, FL, and Carla Jennings of Nanuet, NY; her sisters: Gloria Jones of Islip, NY, Alma Pinkney of Sanford, FL, Linda Smith of Greenwood, FL, and Sharon Copper and Joyce Copper, also of Greenwood, FL. Delores also has 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins left to cherish her memory. 

Delores was preceded in death by her 3 brothers: Tony Long, George Long, and James Long; 2 sisters: Betty Clarke, and Lorraine Hardee; grandson, Daniel Jennings; and by her son-in-law Tony.  

Visitation was private. A Funeral Service was held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Grace Baptist Church in Highland Falls, NY, followed by interment at Eagle Valley Cemetery in Town of Highlands, NY
