Sharon Kateri Roser
May, 21, 1968—September 22, 2022
New Windsor, NY
Sharon Kateri Roser, beloved friend to many, passed away suddenly on September 22, 2022 at her home in New Windsor, NY. She was in the caring company of her roommates and close friends, Kenneth and Michelle Koch.
The only child of William Roser (1927-1983) and Agnes “Bubbles” Rodden Roser (1932-2005) of Fort Montgomery, NY, Sharon was born on May 21, 1968 at Cornwall Hospital in Cornwall, NY
Growing up in Fort Montgomery, Sharon attended Sacred Heart School; in 1986 she graduated from James O’Neill High School.
A patriot and proud American, Sharon worked as an Administrative Assistant in the Department of Geography and Environmental Engineering at the United States Military Academy at West Point for over 24 years. This job was one she loved and was very proud to support the military academy. She had many personal contacts with the cadets, and rooted for Army teams passionately.
While there, she continued her education. Sharon studied counseling at Long Island University, C.W. Post, and graduated with her Master’s degree in Psychology from Dominican College in 1990.
Sharon Roser was known for her wicked and uproarious sense of humor and kindness to those around her. She loved her cats and all animals, music, the NY Mets, Star Trek, and family history. Above all, Sharon loved her friends and family, of which there are too many to mention—including family members from the Roser, Rodden, Callahan, McCullough, Ripa and Hill families.
She was pre-deceased by her parents and her uncle, Gerard Rodden.
A memorial service and reception will be held at the Hudson Highlands United Methodist Church in Fort Montgomery, NY at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 11, 2022. The church is located at 170 Route 9W, corner of Tonneson Road and Rt. 9W, Fort Montgomery, NY 10922.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to your local ASPCA or no kill shelter in honor of Sharon’s love for her furry friends.
