Ronald Louis LaMarche

October 2, 1944—May 15, 2022

Formerly of Highland Falls, NY

Ronald Louis LaMarche, of Eagle River, passed away on May 15 of an extended illness. He was 77.

He was born October 2, 1944 in Brooklyn, NY to Francis and Annette LaMarche. He grew up in Highland Falls, NY and graduated high school in 1962.

He served 40 years of Federal Government service in Air Traffic Control beginning with 8 years in the Air Force. He was a major contributor in the design of modern airspace and air traffic facilities in Israel, Mexico and China. After retiring, he relocated to Eagle River and has served on the Eagle River Airport Commission since 2015. He was an avid fisherman and Milwaukee Brewers fan. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert LaMarche and sister Joanne [LaMarche] Bland. He is survived by his wife Patricia and two daughters: Margaret [Kyle] Cadwallader of Apple Valley, MN and Sarah LaMarche of Mukwonago; seven grandsons: Nathaniel [Kayla], Nicholas, Ronald, Samuel, Hayden, Logan and Kane; brother-in-law Keith [Jean] Numrich as well as numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.

A funeral service will be at 1:00pm on May 28 at Christ Lutheran Church in Eagle River. Visitation will be one half hour prior to the service and interment will immediately follow at the Eagle River cemetery.

David C. Love

July 8, 1953—May 8, 2022

Highland Falls, NY

David C. Love passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at Sloane-Kettering Memorial Hospital in New York, NY.  He was 68 years old. Son of the late Ellwyn C. and Dorothy H. (Pollack) Love, he was born on July 8, 1953, in Cornwall, NY. 

Dave served as a Lieutenant for the New York State Park Police in Bear Mountain, NY.  He was a member of Hudson Highlands United Methodist Church in Fort Montgomery, NY, and a member of the New York State Park Police PBA. 

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Nancy (Snoop) Love of Highland Falls, NY; children: Nicole Graber and her husband, Douglas of Shohola, PA; Major David C. Love, Jr., and his wife, Seoeun Bae of Highland Falls, NY; and Tracey Love and her fiance, Erik Tellone of Newburgh, NY; brother, Cliff Love and his wife, Sue of Williamsburg, VA; beloved grandchildren: Avery and Nolan and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Dave was also predeceased by his sister, Nancy Lopez.  

Dave began his 36 year police career in Highland Falls and Cornwall on Hudson, then spent the next 30 years at Bear Mountain with the New York State Park Police.  While at Bear Mountain, he enjoyed being part of the Search and Rescue Team, Dive Team and the Marine Unit.  He was also the part time Chief of Police for the Town of Highlands. 

Dave was a role-model and positive influence in his community.  He began his love for volunteering in his early years with the Town of Highlands Ambulance Corps and Cronomer Valley Fire Department.  He was also a coach for Little League, Ponytail League, and James I. O’Neill High School Girls Soccer and Softball Teams.  

The most important thing to remember about Dave was his love for his family.  He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and was committed to supporting their endeavors and passions.  He was always at their events, even if he had to travel far and wide, and if he was ever needed, he would drop everything to help his family.   His favorite pastime was golfing.  He enjoyed playing with his friends and even taught his wife, Nancy, to golf.  In 2014, they became “snow birds” and enjoyed spending their winters in Florida playing golf and meeting new friends.  He was a wonderful husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many. 

Visitation will be held from 2– 4 p.m. and 7– 9p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at William F. Hogan Funeral Home, 135 Main St., Highland Falls, NY 10928.  A Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Highland Mills United Methodist Church, 654 Route 32, Highland Mills, NY 10930.  Burial of cremains will follow after at Cemetery of the Highlands. 

Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope, NY.
