Assemblyman Colin  Schmitt has a small business of the month appreciation program to show recognition for a local business in the 99th Assembly District each month.

For the month of October 2021, he recognized Highland Falls’ South Gate Tavern of Highland Falls

“South Gate Tavern is a multi-generation family-owned local business that is a place of enjoyment for lifelong locals and worldwide visitors to West Point alike,” Schmitt said. “Established in 1919, South Gate Tavern has played an active role in our community and is truly a local favorite. I’m proud to announce South Gate Tavern as our October Small Business of the Month and I wish them many more years of success and thank them for their dedication to our community and its people.”

Eamon Fallon, owner of South Gate, was appreciative of the distinction.

“We would like to thank Assemblyman Schmitt for choosing us as the Small Business of the Month,” he said. “We are proud to be about family and community here while serving the Highland Falls and West Point communities as their authentic Irish Pub. Come by for a pint anytime!”
