This year’s Public Safety Sunday, held on October 10, was a special celebration as well as opportunity to honor the ambulance corps, firefighters, law enforcement, and public officials in our area. The congregation of Grace Baptist and friends in the area have been showing appreciation to our community emergency responders for 21 years with these special Sundays.

For this special service, public safety personnel from many departments were recognized: Fort Montgomery Fire Department, Town of Highlands Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Town of Highlands and Village of Highland Falls Police Deptartments and Supervisor Bob Livsey.

These guests were presented with a book, God Has Not Forgotten You by David Jeremiah, to express our gratitude for each one’s service.

Supervisor Robert Livsey designated Sunday, October 10, 2021, as “Public Safety Sunday.” This proclamation was printed in a previous week’s newspaper.

Pastor Snavely emphasized again the importance of showing support with encouraging words and, most importantly, the promise of prayer when first responders go out on a call.

The guest speaker, Rev. Andy Gleiser, presented a message focusing on the scene of Jesus’ greatest rescue, and the soldiers who watched Him die on the cross.

The service concluded with an extensive luncheon for those who attended, and the church family of Grace Baptist hopes these public servants will long remember the appreciation of our community and our support in prayer.
