Lynn A. Colonell

July 17, 1947-February 4, 2021

Highland Falls, NY

Lynn Ann Colonell died on February 4th after a short illness. She was a lifelong resident of Highland Falls. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. 

She graduated in 1970 from Rockland Community College of Nursing. She obtained her BS in nursing in 1979 from Dominican College. She had a passion for nursing. She was a dedicated and devoted nurse for 50+ years. She worked at many places over the years making friends at them all including: Public Health, St Luke’s, Sisters of the Presentation, Good Sam’s, Interim, Wellness, and Accredo.

Lynn Ann loved animals taking care of many cats and dogs over the years. She was a generous, caring, and devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.

She was predeceased by her parents Arthur William Colonell Sr and Marie (Kammer), her brother Arthur William Colonell Jr, her dear friend Eddie Smith. She is survived by her beloved dog Bonnie, significant other Andrew Kreiger, her sister-in-law Maureen Colonell, her niece Rebecca Hilliker(spouse Jerry), her nephew Andrew(spouse Robyn) Colonell, his children Rocco and Violet, her niece Amanda Colonell and her daughter Avery, her nephew Matthew Colonell. 

Due to the pandemic there will be no services at this time. A spring funeral mass will be announced at a future date, with a private burial following.

Myrna “Dorothy” Lewis

August 31, 1932—February 18, 2021

Wilmington, NC formerly of Highland Falls, NY

Dorothy Lewis passed away February 18, 2021 in Wilmington, NC at the age of 88.

Dorothy was born in West Point, NY to Joseph and E. Rosalie Gorham. She was a member of the Highland Falls High School Class of 1950. Dorothy worked many years at the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY and then KPMG in Montvale, NJ until her retirement. Dorothy was a member of the Church of the Holy Innocents in Highland Falls, NY. She was a talented artist and an avid bowler for many years.

Survivors include her sister, Catharine Sheldon of Fort Montgomery, NY and a son, Michael Lewis of Highland Falls, NY, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and her long time companion, Thomas Love of Wilmington, NC. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her sons, Christian M. Lewis and Jeffrey K. Lewis and her sister, Rita Treacy.

Cremation services were arranged by the Quinn McGowen Funeral Home in Wilmington, NC. There are no services scheduled at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Holy Innocents, 401 Main Street, Highland Falls, NY 10928.

Evanthia Rogers-Horne

July 15, 1928 —December 24, 2020

Our dear Aunt, Evanthia Rogers-Horne, 92, passed peacefully at her home in New York City on December 24, 2020 of Parkinson’s Disease. She is survived by her sister, Despina Deveres, sister-in-law Marie Thomaidis, her nieces Kate Barney, Georgia Deveres, Faye Brandmaier, and Leigh Deveres, and nephew Theodore Thomaidis. She is also survived by ten loving grandnieces and grandnephews.

Evanthia was born to George and Katina Thomaidis on July 15, 1928 in Highland Falls, NY. She was pre-deceased by her parents, baby sister, Elenitsa, and beloved brother, Spiros “Spats” Thomaidis. She was also pre-deceased by her first husband, Emmanuel Rogers; fiancé, George Chimes; and second husband, Leon Horne.

A memorial service will be held in the late summer.
