Mary-Kate Squicciarini

Mary-Kate Squicciarini passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 after a 20-year battle with cancer that she fought with resilience, strength, and bravery, never allowing it to define her life. She was 67 years old; daughter of the late John Lawrence and Eileen McKessy McCartin, she was born on July 14, 1953 in Saugerties, NY.
Mary-Kate grew up in Deer Park, NY, on Long Island, where she attended Holy Family High School in Huntington, NY, and then went on to attend Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY. It was at Marist where she met and married her lifelong friend, the late Nicholas “Skitch” Squicciarini. She most recently lived in New Lebanon, NY, with her rock and partner of nearly fifteen years, Jack Condron.
Kate and Skitch were the proud founders and original proprietors of Benny Havens Pub & Restaurant in Highland Falls, NY. Kate later worked at The Hotel Thayer in West Point, NY, for many years where she held numerous positions. She began her career there in the Cocktail Lounge, then moved to Food and Beverage as a manager and ended her tenure in the Sales Office where she took great pride in partnering with various community organizations including The Rotary Club and Big Brothers Big Sisters. Kate was also a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Highland Falls, NY for many years.
Kate was known for her immense pride in her Irish heritage, her selfless love and devotion to family, her fierce loyalty to friends, her vibrant smile and her infectious laugh.
Kate is survived by: her beloved daughters, Cara Squicciarini and her significant other, Vernon McQueen of Weehawken, NJ, and Marissa Tarkington and her husband, Shawn of Garrison, NY; their paternal grandmother June Squicciarini of Highland Falls, NY, her significant other, Jack Condron of New Lebanon NY, her brothers: Larry Broesler of Babylon, NY, Sean Broesler of Highland Falls, NY, and Kevin Broesler of Hillsdale, NJ, as well as a large extended family of brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, and cousins that she loved immensely.
She will be forever remembered as “Nanny Kate” by her pride and joy, her four grandchildren: Hudson Shea, Harper Kate, Haiden Shawn and Aidan Skitch.
Services will be privately held at the convenience of the family due to quarantine restrictions. Once it is safe to do so, a larger memorial service to honor Kate’s life with everyone she loved so dear will be held.
Cremation will take place at Cedar hill Crematory in Middle Hope, NY.

Katharine Guinther Wenner

86 Years Old
Kathy Wenner was a good mother who loved God, family and friends. She was a source of joy and light to those who knew her. She worked as an Administrative Assistant at the West Point Military Academy, but her real love was always music. She looked forward to playing the church organ every Sunday, and loved teaching piano to her students. Kathy was the organist at the Church of the Holy Innocents for 25 years. At the church she was the originator of the Thanksgiving Community Dinner, Stained-Glass Window Concert Series, many Christmas pageants and other activities such as relief work in Honduras. She also helped with the Highland Falls Town Parade. Being very supportive of West Point cadets she always went to Canterbury Club meetings and activities (Holy Innocents’ campus ministry to cadets). When she had time for herself, Kathy enjoyed sailing on the Hudson River with her partner James Boujikian and friends. She dearly loved her grandchildren and the time she spent with them. She retired in 2012, and permanently moved to Fort Myers, Florida. After having heart problems in 2017 she returned to this area to be near her two sons, Randy and Richard Wenner, and the community of the Church of the Holy Innocents . She is survived by her sister Miriam Fox; her sons: Randy Wenner and his wife, Sara, and Richard Wenner; her stepson, Mark Boujikian and his wife, Diane; and her grandchildren: Marissa and her husband, Samuel Killian, David Wenner and Noah Boujikian. She was predeceased by her father, mother, two brothers: Russell Guinther and Billy Guinther, and companion James Boujikian. In the words of her son Randy, “I thank my mother for everything she helped me with in her life. God bless her always. Peace.” Amen from all who knew her.
