Josephine Aramini

Josephine Aramini passed away on Wednesday October 21, 2020, at Sapphire Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Goshen. She was 97 years old.

Daughter of the late Carmine Comita and Maria Soluri Comita Chiarella, she was born on February 12, 1923 in Gimigliano, Italy.

Josephine was a seamstress for the United States Military Academy in West Point.

Survivors include her children – Rosa Corigliano and her husband Vince, of Walden, Maria Kelly of West Palm Beach, Fla., Ida Tangen of Seattle, Wash., Carmelina Messina and her husband Vito, of Fort Montgomery, and Anna Tiernan and her husband Terry, of Doylestown, Penn; her brother, Samuel Chiarella of Fla.; 11 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; and her beloved extended family and friends in Italy, Canada, and the United States.
She was predeceased by her husband Angelo Aramini, son Giovanni Aramini, sister Rosina Comita, brother Joseph Chiarella, and by her sons-in-law Phil Kelly and Greg Tangen.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2020 from 5-8 p.m. at William F. Hogan Funeral Home, 135 Main St., Highland Falls, NY 10928. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 30, 2020 at Sacred Heart Church, 353 Main St., Highland Falls. Interment will follow at Eagle Valley Cemetery in Town of Highlands.

Geraldine M. Caldwell

December 11, 1931 – October 23, 2020

Highland Falls

Geraldine M. Caldwell passed away on Friday, October 23, 2020, in Highland Falls. She was 88 years old.

Daughter of the late Melville and Ellen Sharp Weber, she was born on December 11, 1931 in Hackensack, NJ.

Geraldine was a secretary for the Moultonborough United Methodist Church in Moultonborough, N.H. She was the past president of the United Methodist Women in Moultonborough and a member of the Carroll County Snowmobile Club.

Survivors include her children – Craig Caldwell and his wife, Renee of Highland Falls, Colin Caldwell of Washington, N.H, and Jane Fitts and her husband, Dennis of Laconia, N.H; her siblings – Donald Weber of Concord, N.H, Nancy Kreider of Quakertown Penn., and Ellen Fuchs of Wharton, NJ; her grandchildren – Amanda, Alicia, Madeline, Jessica and Andrew; and her eight great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Charles W. Caldwell, Jr., and her daughter-in-law, Margaret.

Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope.
The family sincerely thanks Shelia for the loving care over the past few years. The family would also like to thank the Highland Falls ambulance and police for their assistance.

Dean Henry Van Seters

August 27, 1952 – October 24, 2020

Highland Falls

Dean Henry Van Seters, 68, of Highland Falls, passed away on Friday Oct 24. Raised in Cornwall-on-Hudson, he was the son of Henry and Teresa Van Seters.

Dean was an avid outdoorsman, writer and storyteller. He supported these passions while working in the transportation industry. Over the years he drove for A. Duie Pyle, The Golden Nugget, Dairy Bulk Transport, the United States Army and West Point Tours. Most of all, he enjoyed taking special needs children to and from school.

As a teen, he became a certified scuba diver, motorcyclist and later took to the skies earning a pilot’s license. He spent several years on the road in the southeast, setting telephone poles for Osmose Utilities. He treasured these adventures and the friendships that ensued.

A lifetime member of Black Rock Fish & Game Club, Dean always enjoyed people and visited them over a cup of coffee or a beer. He was a proud supporter of Black Rock Forest Consortium and the forest he loved to frequent his entire life. Dogs and cats sought his company wherever he went and he leaves behind his beloved cat Bagheera.

Dean was predeceased by his father, Henry Van Seters. He is survived by his mother, Teresa Van Seters; sister and brother-in-law Karen and Richard Fain; three nieces; and two grand nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Mountainville. All are welcome. Memorial Contributions in Dean’s name may be made to Black Rock Forest Consortium, www.blackrockforest.org.
