Diane H. McCue passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Emerald Peek Nursing Center in Peekskill. She was 90 years old.
Daughter of the late William and Margaret Jeheber Hollingshead, she was born on December 25, 1929, in West Point. Diane was the payroll clerk for Firth Carpet in Firthcliff.
Survivors include her son Richard B. McCue and his wife Kathy, of Fort Montgomery; her sister Elaine K. Baker of Gilford, NH; along with her two grandchildren Matthew McCue and Crystal Begins.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Donald J. McCue, her son Donald R. McCue, and by her brothers Richard C. Hollingshead and William Hollingshead.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. on Friday, August 14, at William F. Hogan Funeral Home, 135 Main St., Highland Falls. A Graveside Service will begin at 2 p.m., Friday, August 14, at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Middle Hope. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will be limited occupancy; please adhere to the state regulations regarding face masks and distancing.

David C. Gower
November 13, 1929 – August 6, 2020

David C. Gower passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh. He was 90 years old.
Son of the late Edward and Margaret Loudon Gower, he was born on November 13, 1929, in Yonkers. David proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Airborne from 1949 to 1952 as a Korean War veteran, receiving an Honorable Discharge. On October 4, 1953 he married the love of his life, Evelyn Marie Bailey, a marriage of more than 63 years. On October 1, 1956, David was sworn in as a firefighter for the City of Yonkers Fire Department. He retired on February 14, 1982.
He was a member of many organizations, including New York State Retired Police and Fire Association, Holy Name Society of Yonkers Fire Department, Christ The King Church in Yonkers, and attended Sacred Heart Church in Highland Falls. David proudly co-owned and operated Koepper Moving and Storage in the City of Mt. Vernon, later in Hastings.
Survivors include his children – Nancy Carroll and her husband Peter, Peggy Lauricella, David Hank Gower and his wife Marietta, and Elizabeth Gower; his grandchildren – George, David, Bailey, Paul, Mark, Matthew, Daniel, Douglas and Eva; and by seven great-grandchildren.
David was predeceased by his wife Evelyn, and his son-in-law Ralph Lauricella.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday August 13, at Sacred Heart Church, 353 Main St., Highland Falls. Interment followed at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.

Clarence Allen Starr, Jr.

Clarence “Skeeter” Allen Starr Jr. passed away suddenly on Saturday August 1, 2020 at the age of 76.
Born in Cornwall, New York on March 30, 1944, he was the son of the late Clarence Allen and Lena Starr.
Skeeter was a lifelong resident of Highland Falls, and attended the Highland Falls-Fort Montgomery Central School District. Skeeter was the former owner of The Trading Post Restaurant in Fort Montgomery and Skeeter’s Pub in Highland Falls. Skeeter was past president of the Highland Falls Business Association, past vice president of the Italian American Club, and member of the Orange County Liquor Dealers Association for many years.
Skeeter’s love for his family was reflected in everything he did and his memory will live on through them and all who loved him.
Survivors include his wife Patricia (Lubanty) at home; daughter Clarissa Farrier and her husband Robert of Highland Falls; son Clarence “Skeeter” Starr III and his fiancé Michele of Walden; his sisters Barbara Cox of Highland Falls and Clarissa “Kee” Stanton of Cape Cod, Mass.; grandchildren Bryce, Aidan, Brandon, Gavin, Emma and Lauren; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service was held at Peacedale Cemetery in Highland Falls, on Wednesday August 12, 2020. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Town of Highlands Volunteer Ambulance Corps at 39 Main Street, Highland Falls, NY 10928.

Marion E. Willis
April 5, 1938 -August 8, 2020

Marion E. Willis, 82, of Newburgh, died on August 8, 2020.
Marion was the daughter of the late Heath and Ellen Sullivan Cole, born on April 5, 1938 in Sharon, Conn. She lived in Ticonderoga until her father was transferred to Newburgh in 1953.
She graduated from NFA in 1955 and married James Willis in 1958. They lived in Fort Montgomery where they raised five children. Marion was a PTA president, ponytail coach, school volunteer and Cub Scout leader in Highland Falls. After 24 years of banking, she retired from HSBC.
Marion is survived by her brother Heath Cole (Kathy); sons James (Karen) and John (Kathy); and daughters Kelly Azevedo (Tom), Karin Hogan (Ben) and Kimberly Dewalt (Matt). Her surviving grandchildren are Jimmy (Kristina), Alexandra (Tom), John (Kristina), Erik (Courtney), Luke, Peyton and Riley. She had eleven great-grandchildren – John, Sadie, Grace, Hayden, Wyatt, Emma, Addison, Henry, Briana, Everett and Isaac.
She is predeceased by her husband James and grandson Scott in 2017.
Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Blessed Sacrament Chapel in Fort Montgomery, followed by interment at Eagle Valley Cemetery, Town of Highlands.
