At noon today, March 19, parishioners of Sacred Heart Church, as well as passersby on Main St., stopped what they were doing to pray together. Today is the Feast of St. Joseph, and congregations all around the Archdiocese of New York gathered outside their sanctuaries to offer a simple Benediction with the Blessed Sacrament.
“Our intention is to seek God’s mercy and forgiveness and ask for protection from this threat of the spread of Corona Virus and an end to this pandemic”, it was noted at the church.
Rev. Joseph Tokarczyk prayed aloud for healing for those who are sick, as well as blessings on the Sacred Heart parish, entire community, nation and world as the deadly Coronavirus pandemic continues.
