Two veterans to be honored

Assemblyman hosts ‘Hall of Fame’ ceremony

Assemblyman Colin Schmitt has announced the inaugural 99th Assembly District Veterans’ Hall of Fame nominees: nominated by the Village Board is Joseph Gregory Lowrey, U.S. Army, and nominated by the Town Board is John Joseph Flynn, U.S. Army.

These nominees will be formally honored at Assemblyman Schmitt’s Veterans’ Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony to be held on Monday, Nov. 18 at the Orange County Emergency Services Auditorium in Goshen at 6:30 p.m.

“This event will recognize Veterans from across the 99th Assembly District who have bravely served our country and deserve the greatest honors”, Schmitt said. “Local governing boards and leaders in the 99th Assembly District had the ability to nominate one Veteran that truly stands out to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.”

Following the ceremony an official traveling wall of honor featuring these nominees will travel the district and be displayed at public places to recognize our local heroes and their achievements.

“Our Assembly District is home to many brave veterans that deserve recognition for their service and countless contributions to our community,” the assemblyman added.
