Coming this spring: ArtWalk 2020!
The Village Board has approved the use of Highland Falls sidewalks and other public areas for the Highlands Chamber of Commerce’s next version of ArtWalk — it’s expected to kick off in the spring. This year, watch for an expanded version of previous years — organizers have asked to use six additional sites.
They include the sidewalk area in front of Navy Federal Credit Union and 427 Main St. and the sidewalks near Village Hall, in front of Lily’s of the Valley and above the empty lot near Town Hall (on the east side of the street).
They are also hoping to work with the Garden Club to add a piece of art at one of the various gardens.
In a letter to the board, the Chamber’s Cindy Modlin said they’ll need the village’s help, specifically the Department of Public Works.
“We are engaged in raising funds for this event and would like to request your support again this year,” she wrote. You may remember the tremendous community response to the past years’ ArtWalks; it is our hope and intent with your support to make ArtWalk 2020 an even greater success for the community.”
