Consultant hired

The Village Board has hired consultant Clint Smith to investigate the installation of a cell tower in Highland Falls. He’ll look at potential locations for a tower, as well as the type of cellular voice and data coverage that could be improved by the erection of a tower.

Smith was hired contingent upon an escrow account being set up by Homeland Towers to pay for his work. His terms were working for up to 26 hours, at $250 per hour for a total of $6500.

“We are not locked into where we did the test flight,” the mayor said of Homeland Tower’s desire to put a tower in Highland Falls. “The board has already suggested several other areas for him to look at.”

It was not noted when Smith would do his work, or if he would report back to the board in a public meeting.
