Joe Gill will retire on March 29 after serving for many years as the vice president and general manager of the News of the Highlands — the company that publishes The News of the Highlands and its sister paper, The Cornwall Local.

Ray L. Sheldon, a long time resident of Stony Point, has just celebrated his 100th birthday on March 17. He was born in Jersey City, NJ, and was married to Eleanor (Stalter) for 66 years before she passed away in May 2009.
